‘Kites’ to hit screens worldwide on May 21

Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori starrer ‘Kites’ will be released in over 2,300 screens worldwide on May 21.

“Of these, over 1800 screens are in India and over 500 screens overseas, making ‘Kites’ the biggest ever Indian release till date globally,” said Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance BIG Pictures, which is distributing the film.

In its first phase, ‘Kites’ will release in India, U.S., U.K., UAE, Australia, South Africa and 30 other countries on May 21. In the second phase, it will release in additional 30 countries, which include various non-traditional markets.

Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, Anurag Basu and Brett Ratner have travelled to New York and London for the promotion of the film with Barbara Mori and Brett Ratner doing additional promotion in Miami and Los Angeles, he said.

“The movie’s universally appealing story deserves the largest release, not just in India, but also overseas. We have immense faith in the film and have supported it to the fullest in terms of marketing and distribution,” Mr. Lamba said.

Hrithik seeks guru’s blessings

Hrithik Roshan flew down to Chennai recently to meet his family guru at the Oneness University for a relaxed retreat. He was accompanied by wife Suzanne and parents Pinky and Rakesh Roshan in tow. Although the Roshans are said to be regular visitors, this was a special family trip on Pinky’s suggestion.
Hrithik’s niece Sunarika, who recently tied the knot with Mohan Nager, was also spotted at the university for a spiritual break.
It is a well known fact that the guru is the guiding factor for the close-knit Roshan family. According to sources, the university is the Roshans’ favoured destination as it helps them strike a work-life balance.

Sussane Roshan turns Twitter addict

Following Hrithik Roshan’s footsteps. Sussane Roshan too is fast becoming a Twitter addict. What comes as a surprise to her “followers” is the fact that she has actively been tweeting to Barbara Mori.

Sussane has posted several messages on Barbara’s profile and even told her that she is looking forward to Barbara’s visit to India. Barbara Mori is expected to be coming to India during the release of Kites. Sussane has tweeted about how she wants to show Barbara around in India.

Interestingly, Sussane even has a new nickname for Barbara — Chiquita. “Contrary to rumours, Sussane and Barbara have been good friends. Hrithik, Sussane and Barbara had even visited a tattoo artist, Sameer Patange. While Hrithik and Sussane got their wrists tattooed, Barbara got a tattoo on her ankle dedicated to her brother Kentaro Mori,” said a source.

Shilpa Shetty joins Twitter @theshilpashetty

Actor Shilpa Shetty is the latest celebrity to join the micro-blogging website Twitter, which is fast becoming a favourite hangout for Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

The 34-year-old, who has her own blog, joined the networking site on Friday. Shetty, who is also the co-owner of IPL team Rajasthan Royals, used the opportunity to promote her team. "Hello Hello i am the newest inclusion to twitterdom! In London now..IPL Jitters kicking in.Launched the new mascot 'Moochu Singh' too cute!! (sic)," the actor wrote.

Shetty was welcomed by filmmaker Karan Johar, an avid tweeter, who had earlier encouraged Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan to join the website. "Ok...@theshilpashetty in the house and joins the family...give her love!!!," Johar tweeted.

Other Bollywood celebrities on twitter are Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Mallika Sherawat, Riteish Deshmukh, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta, Shahid Kapoor and Anupam Kher.
