Chiru quits to be ‘hero’, T-fire engulfs films of kin

The Praja Rajyam chief, Chiranjeevi, has decided to resign his membership in the Assembly on Thursday to take up the cause of a united Andhra Pradesh even as Telangana agitators hit the streets again, attacking theatres screening films of his family members.

KU students ‘ban’ Chiru kin films

In retaliation against the Praja Rajyam chief K. Chiranjeevi’s unified state stand, Kakatiya University (KU) students have now decided to target films starred or produced by his family members or relatives including Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja, Allu Arvind and Pawan Kalyan.

On Wednesday at around 11.30 am, KU Joint Action Committee (JAC) members including activists of ABVP and Telangana Graduates Association (TGA) picketed outside Amrutha theatre in Hanamkonda, where Allu Arjun’s Arya-2 was being screened.

Apart from Amrutha theatre, where Maghadheera made a 100 day run previously, KUJAC members also stopped the screenings of Magadheera and Arya-2 in Radhika and Sunil theatres respectively, in the city.

The Telugu Desam (TD) was rattled by rumours on Wednesday that the party units in five Telangana districts planned to move resolutions in support of the United Andhra Pradesh is forcing party leaders from the region to deny the stance.

5 RTC unions to go on stir from Jan. 5

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of five APSRTC unions, barring the recognised National Mazdoor Union (NMU), has decided go on an indefinite strike from January 5 demanding 22 per cent interim relief for all the one lakh employees on par with the government staff.


Swine flu scare for Team India

The Indian team suffered a scare on Wednesday when their mental conditioning coach and trainer Paddy Upton was tested for swine flu. Upton did accompany the team to Nagpur but had undergone a test at a private hospital in Rajkot.
