Weight and watch for Kats

Katrina Kaif is in a mood to experiment. After the crisp cotton saree clad look in Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti, the actress will be seen in a very glamorous role in Karan Johar’s Dostana 2.
She has already lost oodles of weight and is looking even more stunning in her new avatar. In spite of her glamour, Katrina has always been simple in her presentation. Her last film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani saw her as a simple small town girl.
But Dostana 2 promises to be a hugely different. The actress isn’t very keen on revealing much though. When asked about the film she only said, “There’s a long time before that project begins. I haven’t even started working on it yet, how can I talk about it?”
Karan Johar is known to present his heroines in their glamourous best. From Kajol to Preity Zinta, Kareena, Rani and most recently Priyanka Chopra, every one has added a lot of oomph factor to his films. When asked whether Katrina too would follow her predecessor and do a bikini scene for the sequel, she replied, “No, I don’t think so.”
Her fans have always been curious to see her in a bikini. Whether or not the wait is over for them, only time can tell. But Karan Johar is a man who’s known to convince his heroines. On the other hand Katrina continues to be elusive about the subject. “Every film is different. And all I focus on at the moment is to work hard to entertain my fans. I can’t control a film’s fate. Though I always believe that if a product is good it will always be appreciated,” she said.

I may get married in 2 years: Katrina

Katrina Kaif, who is busy promoting her forthcoming film "Raajneeti", says she may get married in the next two years.

"I think in two years I will get married. But still two years is a long time. I think I still have some time. Lets see. You know as the saying goes, 'Man proposes god disposes' - so every time we make a plan god comes and changes it. Let's see," Katrina, who is often linked with Salman Khan, told reporters here.

Katrina, 25, has shed her glam girl image to play a politician in director Prakash Jha's much talked about "Raajneeti". She describes it as a special film in her career.

"A lot of people have given tremendous feedback... hopefully audiences will like it and it would be a new step for me in my career," Katrina told reporters at the launch of the wedding line Nakshatra Vivaah on Thursday.

"Raajneeti" takes an incisive look at Indian electoral system where a handful of people control the destiny of millions. It shows how people, who understand power, fight a bitter and violent battle to achieve their unstoppable ambition.

Apart from Katrina Kaif, the film also features Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Sarah Thompson, Naseeruddin Shah and Nana Patekar.

Though many feel her character in "Raajneeti" is based on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Katrina has denied the speculation.

"For me Sonia Gandhi-ji is one of the most inspiring women in India. And personally, she is an inspiration. But this film and my character in the film does not resemble her or is not based on her life at all. I think it's really important to clarify," she clarified.

She is also doing Farah Khan's "Tees Maar Khan" and feels the director should do more films.

"Shooting for 'Tees Maar Khan' went off amazingly. That was one of the funniest times I had. My only comment on working with Farah Khan is that she should be doing more films," said Katrina.

Asin steps into Katrina’s shoes

If all goes well, Asin might step in Katrina Kaif’s shoes in Anurag Basu’s Khamoshi. Kats had walked out of the film after she learnt that Priyanka Chopra has signed up for the film too. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role and now Asin has agreed to act in it.

“Katrina walked out of the film after she learnt that Priyanka, who is also in it, has a more meatier role. However, after she walked out, director Anurag Basu has gone ahead and finalised Asin for the role. The actress loved the script and is keen on working with Basu. The details are to be finalised and the film will hit the floors by August.”

Incidentally there were also rumours of tension between Katrina and Ranbir as he suggested Priyanka’s name for the film after he worked with her in Anjaana Anjaani.

Katrina collapses during shooting

Katrina Kaif collapsed on the sets of Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ while shooting at Malshej Ghat, about 100 km away from here.

Co-star Akshay Kumar flew in a doctor from city-based Breach Candy Hospital in his private chopper since the medical facilities in Malshej were below par.

The doctor listed over exertion, lack of sleep and her constant low blood pressure as causes of the collapse.

Her spokesperson confirmed the incident. “Katrina was unwell on Wednesday morning. She has been advised some rest. Of late, she has been going through tremendous work stress, travelling in and out of Mumbai.”

According to sources on the sets, “Katrina has been shooting non-stop for her films and commercials. The constant travel is taking a toll on her health. Katrina’s plate is so full this year that she hasn’t had enough time to recuperate.”

“After getting her hair and make up done she arrived on the sets and just fainted,” sources said.

However, a few hours post her medical check up; Katrina was back in action and continued to shoot for an important scene in spite of director Farah Khan advising her to take the day off.

“Katrina didn’t want to inconvenience the cast and crew and decided to continue shooting. There have been several cases in the past when she has kept her professional commitments despite being ill,” they said.
