Hooch death toll in A.P. rises to 12

The illicit liquor tragedy is rocking Amalapuram and Ambajipeta rural areas with the death toll rising to 12 till Tuesday evening in various hospitals.

All those who fell after drinking the hooch have been shifted to Kakinada General Hospital from different hospitals in Amalapuram. The administration has estimated that about 150-200 persons might have consumed illicit liquor in the last two days in different places, including at Antarvedi Kalyanotsavam.

Prime accused Pechetti Ramakrishna was arrested and questioned along with his assistants. He reportedly told the police that he had mixed diazepam tablets in black jaggery wash to give more kick to the consumers.
