Madhuri refuses to work with Saroj

A few months ago there were reports that ace choreographer Saroj Khan had approached her favourite dancing star Madhuri Dixit to play the lead in her Broadway show, based on the historical dancer Amrapali. But at the launch of a talent portal, Khan clarified that Madhuri won’t be a part of the show, though she was her first choice.
“Although I wanted Madhuri on board, her secretary (Rakesh Nath) refused stating that she can’t be a part of the show. The last minute refusal left me disappointed,” admitted Saroj, who has choreographed hit dance numbers like Ek Do Teen, Dhak Dhak, Dola Re and others with Madhuri.
The choreographer has now picked up an all-new cast for her show. “I am keen on bringing new talent to the silver screen and for the theatrical show.” Saroj also disclosed that noted writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar was to script this show but she “could not meet his exorbitant demands.”
“Anyway, now I have got through all the initial hiccups and we will present Amrapali in the month of October in London and we will take this show all over the world,” she adds.
