The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao too described the Railway Budget as a “gol maal budget” and accused the Centre of ignoring the Telangana region.
Both Mr Naidu and Mr Rao blamed the Union ministers and MPs for their failure to get a coach factory situated in Kazipet and more railway network despite the South Central Railways (SCR) contributing as much as 12 per cent to the Indian Railways revenues.
“Barring a few trains and a wagon factory, the Railway Budget is a big disappointment to the state. As usual, the Union railway minister has shown bias towards her state. Bihar and West Bengal always get the lion’s share,” Mr Naidu charged. He added: “To please her, the UPA chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s constituency too was favoured.”
Mr Naidu said that railway ministers are always biased in favour of the state they represent and the time has now come to demand a railway minister from Andhra Pradesh so that the state can get more rail network and projects on the lines of Bihar and West Bengal.
