NRI in the dock for harassing ex-boyfriend

An Indian-born barrister, who has lost a race discrimination claim, attempted to destroy her former boyfriend's life by sending emails calling his mother a
"whore" and his new girlfriend a "German prostitute", a court was told.
Aisha Bijlani, 43, sent the mails to Atul Sehgal, describing him as a "pathetic lapdog"
and calling his lover Nicola Koenig as an "asexual freak" and "cheap trollop" who should lick toilet bowls for a living, Blackfriars Crown Court was told.
Bijlani had last year failed in a damages claim against the Four New Square barristers' chambers. She alleged that she was viewed as nothing more than an "educated wog".
Daily Mail reported that on Monday, Bijlani launched an appeal against a three-year-old conviction on two counts of harassing businessman Sehgal and Koenig with a string of
"alarming and abusive" messages and phone calls.
Bijlani and Sehgal had a romantic relationship for four months in 2004.
When Sehgal formed a relationship with Koenig, Bijlani became intent on "destroying" him.
"You and your friends are weak, childish, sad, low achievers, serial liars and pathetic," Bijlani said in an email. She also called Sehgal a "loser" and an "impotent gay man". In another email, in a reference to Koenig, she said: "No guy with a normal sex drive could be into such a flat chested, too long faced, asexual freak with large sweaty feet. Yuck." "It was just evil behaviour from her. She was basically ruthlessly trying to destroy my
life," Sehgal is quoted as telling the court.
