CAT (2009) results will be released today

The results of the Common Admission Test (CAT-2009) for admissions into B-schools will be released on Sunday. The results will be posted on the website www.catiim.in by Sunday evening.
The IIMs have been postponing the CAT results for over a month now. CAT, which went online for the first time in November 2009, was marred by frequent technical glitches and the organisers were forced to reschedule the exam in January 2010 for those candidates who could not take the exam.
The results were earlier scheduled to be declared on January 22, but due to the re-scheduling of the test for thousands of candidates, the results got postponed to February 15. To the dismay of over two lakh candidates the results were further postponed by a week. This time, the delay was due to the time taken in uploading the photographs of lakhs of candidates. About 15,000 students from Andhra Pradesh appeared for the CAT-2009.
“I had to take the retest due to technical problems. Now, I am worried if the results would be released properly,” said Ms J. Madhurima, a CAT aspirant.
Once the results are declared, the IIMs will invite shortlisted students for the second phase of admission process. Several other business schools too accept the CAT score.
