India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni blamed the batsmen for his team's 14-run loss to hosts West Indies in the Group F match in the Super Eight stage of the World Twenty20 at the Kensington Oval on Sunday.
"Batting hasn't been up to the expectation. Bowlers have done decently, give or take a few overs here and there. Batting is supposed to be our strength, and we should chase 170 in these conditions. We are hoping to give our best in the next game," said Dhoni.
West Indies skipper Chris Gayle, who hit a match winning 66-ball 98, said that he played the knock under pressure.
"Good win, just what we needed. I was under pressure, not just cricket-wise but also given so much support. So it was important to play well myself," he said.
