Seventeen months after Mumbai was brutally attacked by terrorists, a court here will pronounce verdict on Monday on the fate of lone surviving terrorist Ajmal Kasab and two Indian conspirators — Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed.
The special public prosecutor, Mr Ujjwal Nikam, said on Sunday that enough evidence had been brought before the court to seal Kasab’s fate.
Special judge M.L. Tahiliyani will pronounce judgment at 11.30 am Monday, he had announced on March 31. The entire process, however, will take at least a week to complete.
Kasab, meanwhile, is said to be suffering from a stomach disorder, and a senior police officer has said he might have to undergo a surgical procedure after the court delivers its verdict on Monday.
