BJP to launch state-wide agitation from Jan 31 in UP

Bhartiya Janata Party will launch a state-wide agitation from January 31 to protest against alleged anti-people policies of the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government.

"The party will launch a massive agitation against anti-people policies of the Centre and the State government and price rise from January 31," BJP State vice-president Hriday Narain Dixit said here on Monday.

He said as part of the agitation, a State-level demonstration would be staged in Lucknow on February 25.

"On January 31, party workers will form human chains in all districts of the State to protest against price rise. In Lucknow, this agitation will be organised on February 1," Mr. Dixit said.

He said as a public awareness campaign, 15 meetings will be organised in each assembly segment from February 7.

"More than 5,000 public meetings will be organised between January 31 to February 25," he added.

The party vice-president said meetings were being held in every district to review preparations of the proposed agitation.
