IT alone will not suffice, Kalam tells students

Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Tuesday called upon the students to focus on multi-technologies, as Information Technology (IT) alone will not suffice because a wide-ranging convergence of technologies was taking place across the spectrum.

He asserted that the borders between the emerging technologies became porous with educational institutions required to come out with varied courses to include this component of convergence.

Dr. Kalam was addressing the students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) here. During his lively and inspiring interaction, he made the students take several oaths that they would strive hard to achieve their societal, personal and scientific goals.
