Congress MLAs cancel Delhi visit

Telangana Congress legislators on Tuesday hastily cancelled their scheduled visit to New Delhi following strong directions from the central leadership that lobbying would only complicate the statehood issue.

Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao, who along with former Ministers K. Jana Reddy and R. Damodar Reddy had interacted with the AICC president’s political secretary Ahmed Patel and AICC general secretary M. Veerappa Moily, advised the legislators to put off the visit as the Centre was almost gearing up to issue a statement shortly.
