30 MLAs oppose BOT plan

Thirty Congress MLAs and MLCs opposed the state government’s proposal to take up the Kantalapally and Dummugudem hydro power projects on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis.

“There is every need for the government to take up these projects and not to entertain the BOT system under any circumstances. This will destroy the future of all Telangana lift irrigation schemes that are dependent on power to be generated from Godavari thus making the river useless for Telangana,” said Mr K.R. Amos, MLC and others in a petition to the Chief Minister.

Mr K. Jana Reddy, Mr R. Damodar Reddy, Mr K. Yadava Reddy and Mr B. Saraiah were among the other signatories of the petition.
