The civil supplies department wants to remove Rs 25 subsidy on each LPG cylinder supplied for domestic use.
The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, however, was cautious of the proposal and wanted the matter to be posed to the Cabinet before taking a final decision.
The matter was discussed during a review meeting held by the Chief Minister on Wednesday.
Official sources told this newspaper that the Chief Minister was of the view that it would be easy to introduce subsidies but difficult to remove the same.
Mr Rosaiah also gave a go-ahead to export Nellore variety fine rice to other states after the commissioner explained about the piling up of stocks with farmers
