9 names released by Desam

The Telugu Desam on Monday announced its first list of 9 candidates for the bypolls to 12 Assembly constituencies in Telangana on July 27.

TD nominees for nine constituencies are: Ms Palvai Rajyalaxmi (Sirpur), Mr Boda Janardhan (Chennur), Mr Gone Hanumantha Rao (Mancherial), Mr Putta Kishore (Sircilla), Mr J. Narender (Yellareddy), Mr M. Damodar Reddy (Huzurabad), Mr Shikari Vishwanadham (Korutla), Dr Nakka Narayana (Dharmapuri) and Mr Vem Narender Reddy (Warangal West).
Candidates
for three key constituencies — Nizambad urban where the APCC president, Mr D. Srinivas, is in fray, Vemulawada where party former MLA, Mr Ch. Ramesh, switched loyalties to TRS and Siddipet where TRS strongman, Mr T. Harish Rao, is contesting — have been kept in abeyance.

Though TD initially cleared name of Mr Aleem for Nizambad urban, it has been put on hold. The TRS has alleged it was part of match-fixing by Congress and TD to help Mr D. Srinivas win.
