TD eyes Prez rule by forcing resignations

The Telugu Desam has decided to drive the Congress to the wall to create a constitutional crisis that will lead to the imposition of President’s Rule.
The TD legislators, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Mr A. Revanth Reddy, made their intentions clear while speaking to this newspaper.
“The movement is not in our hands. It is in the hands of the people. The JAC has decided to press for resignations right from panchayat members to ministers. We will create such a crisis where no constitutional functionary will work. We don’t mind even if it leads to imposition of President’s Rule,” they said.
“The Congress is playing tricks by offering resignations and then withdrawing it. We will create such a situation where the Assembly will not function in the Budget session,” they said.
On Saturday night, Congress MPs from T region met at the residence of the Bhongir MP, Mr Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy to discuss the JAC’s deadline of en-masse resignations by January 28. The meeting ended inconclusive.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Joint Action Committee, including the Congress MLAs, asked all MPs and MLAs from the T region to resign from their seats by January 28 to pressurise the Centre to initiate T-process.
The Congress MLA, Mr R. Damodar Reddy, said if the MLAs and MPs fail to submit their resignations, people will organise an indefinite bandh.
