The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Mr D. Srinivas met the Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram and the Union defence minister, Mr A.K. Antony and discussed the political situation in the state. Mr Srinivas told the party’s core committee members that the situation was still “tense” in Telangana and voters were pressurising ministers and MPs to resign.
“I have said that there should be an early decision on the issue. The Centre, however, has said both sides need to calm down so that the process can be taken forward. Deadlines do not solve the problem,” Mr Srinivas told mediapersons after the meeting.
