DS: Don’t insist on T deadlines

The Congress top brass on Saturday made it clear to Telangana leaders that it would not be held to ransom over deadlines.
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Mr D. Srinivas met the Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram and the Union defence minister, Mr A.K. Antony and discussed the political situation in the state. Mr Srinivas told the party’s core committee members that the situation was still “tense” in Telangana and voters were pressurising ministers and MPs to resign.
“I have said that there should be an early decision on the issue. The Centre, however, has said both sides need to calm down so that the process can be taken forward. Deadlines do not solve the problem,” Mr Srinivas told mediapersons after the meeting.
All MPs from Telangana met at the residence of Nizamabad MP, Mr Madhu Yashki Goud on the
issue.
