The meeting of the MLAs and MLCs belonging to the Andhra and Rayalaseema region, which is scheduled to be held in the Assembly Hall, on Tuesday, postponed to Wednesday. The meeting was scheduled to discuss the future course of action to continue the pressure on the government against division of the State.
The Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders have been acting tough against the government on division of the State. If the government has to convince them, it would only be by making Hyderabad as Union Territory or a common capital for some time.
Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam leaders from Andhra and Rayalaseema have decided on holding meetings in all towns across the two regions to sensitse people against division of the State.
The TD leaders have also appealed to the students to attend these meetings and protect the state from being divided.
It is to be seen how these leaders would handle the samikyandhra agitation as the Congress in Delhi is preparing ground for division of the State. It was only the other day the AICC spokesman Shakeel Ahmed had said that the party was committed to the creation of Telangana state and was only waiting to build consensus.
Given this background it would be a tough task for the Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders to continue the pressure and protect the state.
