Cell signal helps trace girl in city

A 12-year-old girl, Hima Dhathri, who went missing from her house in Kazipet, Warangal, on Friday was traced in the city on Saturday.

Early on Saturday, the Warangal SP informed the city police that the girl’s cellphone was receiving signals from Regimental Bazaar cell tower.

Subsequently, the Gopalapuram police found the girl at a bus bay in front of Secunderabad Railway Station. When they questioned her, the girl initially gave vague answers but later revealed her identity. It is not clear how the girl came to the city. But, Hima Dhathri alleged that an unidentified person kidnapped her. On searching her school bag, police found some clothes, a purse containing gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas and four brand new vegetable cutting knives. She was escorted back to Kazipet.
