For instance, the former home minister, Mr K. Jana Reddy, who is a vocal supporter of Telangana, and Praja Rajyam chief and actor, Chiranjeevi, who plumps for a united state, are now planning a movie together.
Mr Jana Reddy’s son Raghuveer wants to make a film with Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan Teja as lead pair. On being persuaded by his son, Mr Jana Reddy called on Chiranjeevi in his party office in the Assembly lobby and spent nearly an hour with him, leading to speculation among the MLAs and media corps.
On emerging, Mr Jana Reddy first said that he just wanted to ask Chiranjeevi why he could not make it to his granddaughter’s birthday party. Later he revealed the movie plans. “My son asked me to talk to Chiranjeevi garu,” he said. “We want Chiranjeevi and Teja to act. It’s still in the primary stage.”
Chiranjeevi said he had a “general discussion” with the senior leader and also talked about the movie. Asked if he had also requested Chiranjeevi not to oppose Telangana, Mr Jana Reddy said every party has its own policy and it will not come in the way of friendship.
“Mr Jana Reddy has his policy and I have my policy,” added Chiranjeevi. “Politics and friendship are different. Let us not mix it and create problems.”
Likewise, despite all the sabre-rattling outside, leaders from Seema-Andhra and Telangana chat freely in Assembly lobbies and even crack jokes.
