C-DAC launches security software

In the light of increasing number of data thefts and malware attacks on Indian companies, the Centre for Development for Advanced Computing (C-DAC) on Monday launched three products, ‘NAYAN', ‘Malware Resist' and ‘USB Pratirodh', to address digital security issues.

The software will help address problems such as data thefts, e-frauds and phishing apart from cautioning the user about malware in the system. “We developed these three software keeping individual computers in view. A lot of companies are prone to phishing attacks apart from e-frauds and other malware attacks ,” said D.K. Jain, Director of CDAC during the launch.

While NAYAN is designed to control a computer's access to different networks, it also protects internal network of computers from threats and misuse. Other security tools like USB Pratirodh and Malware Resist provide users the facility to stop malware from entering the system. The software are available at CDAC, ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,500.
