Tirumala chief priest gets memo

The chief priest of Tirumala temple, Mr Ramana Dikshitulu, was served a memo for calling on the business tycoon, Mr Mukesh Ambani, and his family members at their guest house at Tirumala and giving them ashirwachan on April 20.

The deputy executive officer (temple), Mr Gopalakrishna, directed the chief priest to explain his actions within 15 days.

Though the memo was issued three days ago, the information was out only on Tuesday.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer, Mr I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, took the matter seriously after Mr Dikshitulu’s actions caused a furore.

Earlier, Mr Dikshitulu was in soup for performing a yagam at Tirumala seeking divine intervention to make the Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister following the demise of his father, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
