Bomb scare at Satyam theatre

There was tension in Ameerpet when bomb disposal squad personnel swooped down on the premises of Satyam theatre and scanned it for an hour on Monday evening after an unidentified caller told the police that a bomb was planted in the theatre.

However, the call turned out to be a hoax as the bomb squad scanned the premises and found no explosives.

The bomb squad in-charge, Mr Naga Sai, said the police control room intimated them about the call at around 6 pm.

“The sniffer dogs and explosive detectors were pressed into service. We declared the area safe after a thorough search for one hour yielded no trace of explosives,” he said.
