Pallam Raju’s aunt murdered in city

The Union minister of state for defence, Mr Pallam Raju’s aunt, Susheela Kumari, was found murdered in her apartment at Punjagutta here on Tuesday.

Susheela Kumari, 73, a widow, used to stay alone on the first floor of the Lotus Apartments located behind NIMS hospital at Punjagutta. She was Mr Raju’s paternal uncle’s wife. Her two daughters stay in America.

According Bhagwan Das, the watchman of the apartment, two persons aged about 25 had come to the apartment at about 2.30 pm. Around 6 pm Das went up stairs and noticed the door open. On venturing inside, he found Susheela lying dead in the kitchen.

He alerted the police who reached the spot and collected clues from the scene of offence. It is learnt that the body bore injuries on neck and hands.

“We registered a murder for gain case and started investigation,” said the city police commissioner, Mr A.K. Khan. Police arrived at the conclusion as gold ornaments went missing from the house.

Meanwhile, Punjagutta police registered a case under Section 302 (murder case) of the IPC and are investigating.
