Abhilash, 21, has invented new mathematical formulae during his intermediate, invented a racing car and three new types of airplanes and flying saucer. He exhibited his inventions in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahti and Hyderabad. The college is proud of his achievements, says Mr G. Poshal, principal of IR Engineering College where the boy studies.“The treatment would be carried on but his condition is critical and we can’t say how much time would it take and it costs about Rs 20,000 each day,” said Dr. N. Satyanarayana, superintendent of Nims. Abhilash’s father, Mr M. Agamayya, is a watchman in the Forest Department and earns Rs 12,000 a month.
“It may cost more than Rs 20 lakh. Till now we have spent around Rs 5 lakh with the help of some donations, but it is difficult for us to stretch further. We have been told that the treatment would be stopped if we do not pay the expenses. We have approached the government but no assurance or financial help has been given till now. We are still waiting for the help,” said Mr Agamayya.
Ironically, the fateful day happened to be his birthday too. “We had planned to give a surprise in the evening,” said P. Naresh, his friend.
Abhilash was pillion riding a motorcycle when a DCM van coming in the opposite direction rammed into their vehicle. In the accident, his friend who was riding the two-wheeler, died on the spot.
