Former Supreme Court judge, Justice P. Venkatarama Reddi, was appointed as new chairman of the Law Commission of India, on Saturday. Justice Reddi said he will explore ways to reform the present laws to make them more responsive to the fast changing needs of the society.
Justice Venkatarama Reddi has been appointed chairman of the law commission.
Talking to this newspaper, he said he is at present holding the office of the chairman of Advance Ruling Authority and will relinquish the post by Tuesday and take charge of the new office next week.
He said that he has decided to have an in-depth study of the existing laws to make them more proactive and hasten delivery of justice. He said in his new assignment, he would devote more time to reform laws.
