At 60, Babu has a big wish list for AP

The Telugu Desam chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, said he still feels young as he turned 60 on Tuesday. “I feel like I am in my 20s or 30s, he said.

He also averred that he has also no plans to retire till his last breath.

“My good health is due to my disciplined lifestyle. By God’s grace I have never been admitted in a hospital. I still have lot of things to do for the youth, who are the architects of the country,’’ Mr Naidu told this newspaper.

Mr Naidu said he had a chequered political career spanning 32 years, 9 years as Chief Minister and twice as Leader of the Opposition.

“As I grow old I am more determined. I want India to play a key role in international polity and Andhra Pradesh to become a top notch state in the country. I am sure in the next 20 years India will be in one of the top three countries in the world,” he remarked. “I am indebted to people for all the support. Till my last drop of blood I will strive to eliminate poverty, improve the standard of living and make Telugu youth the best in the world,” he said.

On the Telangana stir, he said, “It was a temporary problem facing the state and he would strive to see Telugus shining in the country.”

He said though the country initiated economic reforms, it urgently needed legal, administrative and political reforms.

“We need a series of reforms in various sectors. I want to work with young people to change the thinking process. We have money but we need to protect family values. There is a spurt in divorce rate which is not good,” he said. Mr Naidu spent time with street children at Krushi Home, an initiative of Association Saikorian, alumni of Sainik School, Korukonda at Gowdavalli village in Medchal.
