The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, on Wednesday directed officials to give top priority to upgrading the Tirupati airport.
Reviewing the activities of the Infrastructure and Investment department here, the Chief Minister said the departments should immediately take up land acquisition to help the Airport Authority of India to upgrade the airport.
When the officials told Mr Rosaiah that the acquisition would cost Rs 133 crore, he said that the funds would be made available.
This was the first time that the Chief Minister who also handles the I&I portfolio held a review meeting on the department activities.
