Secret devotee gives Rs 4 crore

An anonymous devotee from Hyderabad offered Rs 4 crore to the Brahmarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam of Srisailam in Kurnool district in different phases.
This is one of the biggest donations given by a single devotee to this famous Shiva temple and other temples excluding the Venkateshwara Swamy temple of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
The GMR group had reportedly donated Rs 1 crore to famous Saraswathi temple at Basar recently.
A highly placed source in the Brahmarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam told this newspaper that the devotee who is from the city is a frequent visitor to the temple and donates large sums of money whenever he
visits.
“So far, he has donated Rs 4 crore. He makes the donation with an explicit condition that his name should not be revealed or publicised. He told us that he doesn’t even reveal the amount donated by his family since it could be leaked out,” a source in the temple said.
The presiding deities of this temple are one of the 12 Jyothirlingas and goddess Brahmaramba Devi is one of the 18 mahasakthis and both are self-manifested.
Meanwhile, the Srisaila Devasthanam has decided to give a last try to get the balance sum of Rs 89 lakhs from actor Amitabh Bachchan before seeking help from another donor for gold plating of Dwaja sthambham.
